On November 30th, the Association of Relatives of Alzheimer’s Patients and Other Dementias of Galicia (AFAGA) will hold the 21st edition of the Professional Conference on Alzheimer’s, under the theme “Research, Internationalization, and Innovation,” at the Afundación Conference Hall in Vigo.
This annual event, which gathers professionals and students from the health and social care ecosystem across Galicia, continues to be a benchmark in the constant search for solutions and advances in the fight against Alzheimer’s.

THE ASSOCIATION
The Association of Relatives of Alzheimer’s Patients and Other Dementias of Galicia (AFAGA) was founded in 1994 due to the initiative of a group of family members, motivated by the lack of orientation and information available at the time regarding this disease. AFAGA was the first association of relatives of Alzheimer’s patients in Galicia.
Its main objectives include providing guidance and information to both families and the general population, raising awareness among public and private entities about the reality of Alzheimer’s to achieve a comprehensive and effective response to the needs of this group, and encouraging and collaborating on research related to the disease.
