Eureka Innowide – Technological validation of inmeRsiVa in Singapore

On Monday, 26 May, we launched one of the most exciting projects of recent years: “inmeRsiVa: Biomarkers in Dementia and Mental Health using XR and EdgeAI,” led by INSATI in collaboration with the Singapore University of Social Sciences (SUSS) and LEX GLOBALMINDS. Funded under the Eureka Innowide 2024 call from the European Union, the proposal ranked 8th out of 624 submissions, achieving the highest score among entries from Spain and Singapore.

We are deeply grateful to Gisela Garcia-Alvarez, Lian Aik Toh from LEX GLOBALMINDS, Carol Ma, Yon Sin Chan, Stephanie Tan, Chong Mian from SUSS, and our community partners, Adrian Tan from SG Assist and Karen Wee from Lions Befrienders Singapore for their dedication and commitment in making this project a reality.

The main objective is the technological validation of inmeRsiVa through a proof of concept in Singapore’s emerging health and care sector, which is facing increasing demand for innovative and accessible solutions for dementia and mental health care. This pilot will assess the technical, commercial, and regulatory feasibility of a set of emerging technologies that INSATI has been intensively developing in recent years

The project’s approach integrates Extended Reality (XR), Artificial Intelligence (AI), Edge Computing, and IoT to deliver a physical-cognitive stimulation program. Through immersive experiences, it aims to improve users’ cognitive and motor abilities. Our goal is to contribute to their overall well-being by analyzing clinically valuable data in a non-invasive, ethical, and secure manner.

Over the next six months, we will work closely with our partners in Singapore, delving into one of the most advanced and dynamic innovation ecosystems in the world, especially in the fields of Digital Health, MedTech, and Biotechnology.
