Participation in the CIM 2025 Open House

As in previous years, the Centro de Investigación Mariña (CIM-UVigo) held its Open House on 7 and 8 November 2025 in the A Laxe area (Vigo). On Friday afternoon (5:00–8:30 p.m.), the public was able to enjoy a variety of free activities for the whole family, designed to bring marine research closer to the public.

This initiative reinforces CIM’s commitment to society: to raise awareness of the work of its research staff, inspire new scientific vocations, and promote awareness of sustainability and ocean conservation.

Our colleague Lizbet Gutiérrez participated by sharing her work on the SIGMA project, which focuses on improving mussel production through predator control. As a company committed to the One Health approach, we are proud to contribute to scientific dissemination and environmental education.

We would like to thank CIM-UVigo for promoting initiatives that bring science closer to society, and the XB2 group at UVigo for their collaboration and support during the conference.

SIGMA is co-financed with funds from the Industrial Doctorates programme of the Regional Government of Galicia (Department of Education, Science, Universities and Vocational Training).
