On 11 October, our colleague Iria Ollero participated in the conference organised by Rede Eusumo and the University of Vigo at Casa das Campás in Pontevedra. This event, focused on new technologies and artificial intelligence as drivers of entrepreneurship in the care economy and social economy, allowed us to share our vision and learn about other initiatives in this transformative sector.
We were part of the panel “Practical experiences of entrepreneurship in the care economy“, together with Lucía Saborido, Founder and CEO of Saraiva Home, and Alejandro Otero, president of Fegaus. In our intervention we went through the most outstanding projects of recent years in the field of mental health (depression, work stress and anxiety), as well as our new line of research focused on the use of virtual reality as a stimulation therapy for people with dementia. These are some of the works that reflect our commitment to technological innovation at the service of well-being and quality of life.
We highlight some of the most relevant conclusions of the day:
- New perspectives in health and technology. The diversity of projects presented made visible how different technological approaches can be complementary in care and well-being. AI appears to be a transformative tool for the coming years.
- Trends in accommodation and personalized attention. We have learned about new solutions that combine innovation and people-centred design, offering services adapted to the changing needs of the elderly.
- Collaboration as a driving force for transformation. The exchange of experiences between entities from different economic sectors (technology, sport, training, etc.) highlights the importance of working in a network to generate social impact, share knowledge and promote the joint development of innovative solutions.
