The objective of the AVECEN project is the development of a distributed platform that allows the self-management of neurodegenerative mental illnesses by patients as well as decision-making by medical professionals and their caregivers. For this purpose, we propose the creation of a dynamic virtual assistant that continuously monitors and evaluates the execution of certain clinical routines, making recommendations adapted to the patient’s condition and evaluating their frequent or usual behavior at any time, allowing to understand their evolution over time and assess the extent to which a deterioration in health status occurs. This is intended to improve the adherence of patients to clinical routines, prescribed treatment and, in general, good practices for the management of degenerative mental illnesses such as physical activity, healthy lifestyle habits, psychological or cognitive evaluations.
The group promoting the project is led by Plexus, with Imagames, Arcade Consultores and Insati Innovation as partners.
Insati, as responsible for the project activity 1, “A1: Medical knowledge: Modeling and parameterization“, completed the different tasks that served as a basis for the different subsequent developments of the project, particularly T1.1: Analysis of technological requirements in neurodegenerative mental diseases, T1.2: Modeling and parameterization of psychological aspects, T1.4: Modeling and parameterization of clinical routines. In addition, he actively participated in collaboration with other project partners in different tasks: T2.3: Platform data repository (Plexus-Insati), T3.3: Manager of clinical routines (Insati-Atis Inibic), T4. 3: Prediction of the patient’s psychological state (Insati), T5.3: Evaluation of the modeling and parameterization in the final solution (Insati-Atis Inibic), T5.4: Testing and final validation of the integrated platform (Plexus, Arcade, Imagames, Insati).
The project has ended on 31/12/2020, although the consortium continues to evolve the solution and promote the active participation of patient associations, particularly those linked to Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s diseases, where AVECEN has focused its efforts to be the most prevalent in society.
