AVECEN – Virtual assistant for the active aging of people with neurodegenerative mental illnesses

The goal of the AVECEN project is the development of a distributed platform that allows self-management of neurodegenerative mental illness by patients as well as decision-making by medical professionals and caregivers in their environment. To this end, we propose the creation of a dynamic virtual assistant that continuously monitors and evaluates the execution of certain clinical routines, making recommendations adapted to the patient’s condition and evaluating their frequent or habitual behavior at each moment, allowing their evolution to be understood throughout of time and assess to what extent a worsening of the state of health takes place. This is intended to improve the adherence of patients to clinical routines, prescribed treatment and, in general, good management practices of degenerative mental illnesses, such as physical activity, healthy lifestyle habits, psychological or cognitive evaluations.

The Biomedical Research Institute of Malaga (IBIMA) is a multidisciplinary research space in biomedicine that is grouped around the Regional University Hospitals and Virgen de la Victoria in Malaga, together with the Primary Care and biotechnology groups of the University of Malaga .

E-predictD

E-predictD is an application designed to help people prevent depression. This application is based on information technology, it carries a series of predictive algorithms that help the patient to make a decision about the things he can do to prevent depression, in addition, he is connected with his family doctor.

The application

The user downloads the application, answers a series of questions and it informs him of the results. From here, he develops a series of programs that he can do to prevent depression and the user can choose what he wants.

Within the clinical trial that is going to be done, the application recommends that you visit your family doctor to talk about it.

This prevention program is personalized for each user, their risk factors, what they want and their circumstances.
